DESIGN THAT RESPONDS TO FEELINGS

I have a passion for reimagining or innovatively repurposing spaces, which may have been influenced by some of my childhood homes included a converted Drill Hall and an old church. I’m interested in how the atmosphere, character and feeling of a space influences the way in which we occupy, function and behave within it.

 

My work is meticulous and detail-focused ensuring accuracy but also, as they say, difference between something good and something great is attention to detail.

 

To give a space a soul, the senses need to be hit up. More than what it looks like, but how does it feel to the touch and in the heart; what does the materiality smell like or sound like underfoot; what’s the flavour; the song; the dance. It’s what brings the space alive. Functionality needs to fit use, which is where my friendly, approachable manner assists in communications with the client; my most important collaborator.
